CTN expo

Just got back from a 3day trip to Burbank. The expo was AMAZING!!! I got to shake Don Bluth's hand and talk to Gary Goldman. I met tons of people and I got to see their art, their animation, other student projects... It was really, really inspiring. It's a little depressing, though, to see the standard that other schools have, and look at our own stuff that we're doing at Aicasd, and realize that it's not gonna cut the bacon. I need to step it up a notch.

NEW PROJECT TIME!!!

Aaaaaanyway, while I was there, I also got to meet Fransisco Herrera, the character designer for an unreleased dreamworks movie, I got to speak face to face with a recruiter from Nickelodeon, the guy who did the maquettes for kung fu panda and coraline, I got to speak with Lou Romano (for those of you who don't know, he's the production designer for a lot of pixar movies, and also the voice of Linguini) ....I got to watch Andreas Deja animate Mama Odie. In sharpie. SHARPIE.

For anyone who missed the 2009 CTN animation expo, I'd definitely recommend getting a ticket for 2010. It's worth every penny.
